Réquiem de Guerra
Based on poems written by young LGBTQIA+ soldiers on the frontlines of World War I, artist Giovana Lago, in her Drag King persona Don Giovanni, arrives in Curitiba for the national premiere of Réquiem de Guerra.
This Drag King theater piece provokes and reflects on violence through its entanglements with the rise of military power and masculinities.
Created between Curitiba and São Paulo, the play received research and development support from Festival Panorama 2021 – Raft, a co-production of Festival Panorama, Teatro Municipal do Porto, Pact Zollverein, Voouit, In Between Time, Vallejo Gantner, Dansehallerne, HAU Hebbel Am Ufer, Gessnerallee, Bates Dance Festival, CCN CAEN en Normandie, Charleroi-Danse, Contemporary Arts Center, Trajal Harrell Company, Festival TransAmériques (FTA), Walker Arts Center, and Sesc SP.

A partir de poemas escritos por jovens soldados LGBTQIA+ nos fronts de batalha da I Guerra Mundial, a artista Giovana Lago em sua persona drag king Don Giovanni chegam a Curitiba para a estreia nacional do espetáculo Réquiem de Guerra.
É teatro drag king que provoca e reflete a violência a partir de seus imbricamentos com o avanço do poderio bélico e as masculinidades.
